The right job, priced right, first time.

A bathroom, a patio, a 60 m² floor: the price depends on the format, the substrate and the cutting. Here is how to get that before you drive out — and get signed off faster.

In short

An enquiry that collects the area, the tile format and the state of the substrate, a price per square metre, work blocked out in days, a deposit before the materials are ordered, and photos that sell the next job.

01

Three details set the price

Between a 60×60 tile laid straight on a level slab and a diagonal mosaic on a substrate that needs work, the fixing time varies by a factor of three. Without those details, a price over the phone is a guess.

The online enquiry collects the area, the tile format, the existing substrate, whether there are cuts, and whether the materials have already been bought. You price it right, and you do not waste a visit discovering a floor that needs levelling.

  • Area, format and substrate asked for every time
  • Photos of the existing floor attached to the enquiry
  • A price per square metre shown by type of fixing

No dead days between jobs

Tiling sits between the other trades: the plumber runs late, and your Monday goes up in smoke. A dead day is a day you never get back.

Your calendar shows the gaps and can open them up for one-day jobs — regrouting, replacements, a small room. The AI receptionist takes the enquiries while you are cutting, and books in whatever fits.

A real example

A job put back by two days frees up Tuesday and Wednesday: both go on direct booking as “floor up to 20 m²” and are taken the same day.

03

Deposit before the order goes in

Tiling means big purchases that cannot be sent back. The deposit asked for when the quote is signed covers the order — you are no longer funding the materials of a customer who is still hesitating.

The quote sets out the area, the format, the wastage allowed for, any levelling and the fixing. It is signed online, and the balance is taken by payment link at handover, with no cheque to wait for.

  • A 30% deposit before the materials are ordered
  • An itemised quote, signed online
  • Balance taken by payment link at handover
04

Your work in photos and reviews

Tiling is chosen by eye: alignment, clean cuts, the setting out. A gallery of your work sorted by room and by format convinces people faster than a cheaper quote.

The review request goes out the day after handover. For a tiler, a review that mentions a tidy site and dates being kept is worth three adverts: it is exactly what the customer is afraid of.

“Asking for the tile format and a photo of the floor before I come out has changed my quotes. I do not get the fixing times wrong any more.”

Common questions

The enquiry offers simple choices with examples, and an “I do not know yet” option. You can then see that the project needs guiding, which is already useful to know before the visit.
