Less dependent on subcontracting

Working for two or three main contractors is comfortable until one of them stops. Private jobs pay better, but they mean being findable and answering — two hard things when you are screwing plasterboard all day.

Applications and stage payments

On jobs running several weeks, invoicing goes by application. Traxo follows the progress you declare and produces the matching invoice, with a summary of what has been fixed.

For private clients it is simpler: deposit on signing, balance at handover, an automatic chaser if the date passes. For main contractors, every job keeps its history and the amounts settled.

Work nobody sees: show the site

Good dry lining is invisible, and that is the whole problem. What convinces people is photos of the work in progress: straight framing, clean joints, floors protected. And reviews from customers who talk about dates being kept.

The review request goes out at the end of the job, and your work feeds the website by type: loft conversions, acoustic ceilings, fire-rated partitions. That is the vocabulary serious customers type in.
