Answer first, with the price agreed.

A door slammed shut at 11pm, a break-in, keys lost: the customer dials the numbers in the order they come up until somebody answers. And he is wary about the price. Here is how to win on both.

In short

An AI receptionist that answers at night and at weekends, a call-out price agreed before you set off, a deposit that weeds out the time-wasters, and a solid Google listing so you are the one they ring first.

01

The price agreed before you go

The trade has a bad name and you pay for it every day: the customer is afraid of a surprise bill and asks the price before he will even give his address. If he does not get a straight answer, he rings somebody else.

Each type of job carries its call-out charge and its bracket, night supplements included. The customer sees the amount, accepts it, and it is settled before you get in the van.

  • Night, Sunday and bank holiday supplements shown up front
  • Deposit paid online: the time-wasters disappear
  • Cancellation terms accepted before the booking is confirmed
02

Someone answers at three in the morning

Your turnover comes down to one thing: picking up. At night, a missed call is gone for good — the person is stood outside, and he is not waiting for you to ring back in the morning.

The AI receptionist answers at any hour, takes the exact address, the type of lock and whether the door is simply slammed or deadlocked. It gives the price and a time, then wakes you only once the job has been accepted.

Common mistake

Setting off without asking whether the deadlock is thrown. It is not the same job, or the same price, and the conversation on the doorstep starts badly.

03

After the call-out, the real job

Opening a door is twenty minutes. Reinforcement, a new door, making the place secure after a break-in: that is the work that actually counts — and it is decided over the following days, often with the insurer.

Traxo keeps a record of the call-out and follows it up at the right moment, with a quote ready for the reinforcement. The customer remembers whoever turned up at 3am; you just have to be there when he decides.

04

The listing that puts you top

In locksmithing, where you sit on Google is your turnover. A complete listing, a clear coverage area, emergency hours filled in and recent reviews: that is what puts you ahead of the middleman platforms.

Every finished job triggers a review request the next morning. Recent reviews count double, and it is that regularity, not an advertising push, that holds your position.

  • Emergency hours and coverage area filled in on the listing
  • Review request sent after every job
  • Complaints reach you before they go public

“Giving the price on the phone has taken the arguments off the doorstep. People accept or they do not, but it has been said.”

Common questions

It protects the rest: reinforcements, door replacements, contracts with managing agents. Those appointments book online, and the emergency slots stay open around them.
