Lessons booked on real openings

A driving school's timetable is built on three constraints that cross each other: the pupil, the instructor and the car. In a notebook, that means hours promised twice and pupils left waiting on the pavement.

Every lesson takes an instructor and a car. The pupil only sees slots that are genuinely free, with their usual instructor if they have one, and books from their phone.

Block bookings that count down

A twenty-hour block paid for upfront is used up lesson by lesson. When that is tracked on a paper card, nobody really knows where the pupil stands — and the conversation at the end of a block is an awkward one.

The block is paid for online and counted down automatically. The pupil sees the hours they have left, you see the blocks running out, and the top-up is offered before the last hour.

Missed lessons, one clear rule

A lesson nobody turns up for ties up an instructor and a car. It's the biggest loss a driving school takes, and the source of most of the friction with pupils.

The reminder goes out the day before with the cancellation link. Past the notice you set, the hour comes off the block: the rule is agreed at enrolment, so it is never argued over afterwards.

Progress everyone can see

A pupil who can't see their progress loses heart, and a pupil who has lost heart spaces their lessons out — then gives up. Parents, for their part, want to know how it's going.

Every lesson records the skills worked on and the level reached. The pupil and their parents follow the progress, the test date is prepared for, and the review request goes out once they've passed.
